Sunday the 18th is a new rockabilly band called The Redline Rockets <a href="http://www.redlinerockets.com">www.redlinerockets.com</a> and as their name suggest they are on the rise their new CD is chock full of great rockin’ hits. Niwot High School will be at Oskar’s on Monday the 19th starting around 7pm they are a great bunch of kids and are quite good, come hear them play for you. Tuesday the 20th is a special show with Uncle Monk <a href="http://www.unclemonk.com">www.unclemonk.com</a> a bluegrass duo staring Tommy Ramone, yes folks that is The Tommy Ramone from the quintessential punk rock group from New York City. He plays and sings real true bluegrass and it’s good. Wednesday the 21st is out Tribute night and this month we are doing The Grateful Dead hosted by Oskar’s own Jamie Lunde of Awnry girl productions, they are always fun nights of great music by local artists. Thursday the 22nd marks the return of Slipstream <a href="http://www.theslipstream.com">www.theslipstream.com</a> with Jamie Stone on banjo they are a fine acoustic group made up of many outstanding musicians. Friday it’s the Delta Sonics band <a href="http://www.deltasonics.com">www.deltasonics.com</a> featuring Al Chesis on the harmonica arguably the best local harp player in Denver with a new CD finally, come and get a copy of it. Saturday the 24th is a legend from Chicago Billy Branch who played with Muddy Waters and many more Chicago greats he is in town doing Blues in the schools for the Colorado Blues Society and we are lucky to get him here to play a show for us don’t miss this master. Sunday it’s a Wedding celebration for Patty &amp; Chris K. a local music celebrity who will have many different bands playing all day for them starting around 4pm come on by and wish them luck. Monday the 26th is our Django jam hosted by David Williams <a href="http://www.decodjango.com">www.decodjango.com</a> they play from 7-9pm and it is a delight to hear them do Django Reinhardt music so well. Jamie Lunde <a href="http://www.winterparkconcerts.com">www.winterparkconcerts.com</a> will be bringing her great band in for a night of alt-country original tunes with a few classic covers on the 28th for your listening enjoyment. Jamie writes lots of great tunes and sings her heart out. Thursday it’s Pokey LaFarge <a href="http://www.myspace.com/pokeylafarge">www.myspace.com/pokeylafarge</a> from St. Louis back for some more Riverboat Soul. Pokey is very unique and really can play that old-time music like nobody else, check him out he is very good and lots of fun. Friday the 30th is Halden Wofford <a href="http://www.Hibeams.com">www.Hibeams.com</a> and the Hi-Beams our favorite Honky-tonk band. It is always a party with The H-Beams so make sure you get there early and be prepared to stay late. We end the month with a big Halloween party with our favorite local rockers The Interstate Stash Express <a href="http://www.myspace.com/interstatestashexpress">www.myspace.com/interstatestashexpress</a> with Terry and the boys wear your best costume and come away with a big prize, it’s always a gas on Halloween. Make sure you wear a costume for lots of fun. </span></span></p>

Saturday is Romano Paoletti &amp; Friends <a href="http://www.romanomusic.com">www.romanomusic.com</a>  Romano has just released his first full CD and it is terrific. It is always a party with Romano so come early if you want to sit. Sunday the 4th is Swing State <a href="http://www.nancythorwardson.com">www.nancythorwardson.com</a> a fine vintage and modern swing band with a great line-up with Bill Ponterelli on clarinet. Mike Schikora <a href="http://www.mikeschikora.com">www.mikeschikora.com</a> will be having a CD release party on Monday night the 5th fresh from a tour of the upper Midwest a great singer/songwriter with a hot band. Come pick up a CD. Tuesday the 6th it will be The Lyons High School jazz band for their initial concert of this school year. Come and support these great kids, they work hard and sound good every year.
Wednesday the 7th is our local band night with Zach &amp; Sean and The Insurgents. Thursday the 8th is Lil’ Bit and the Customatics <a href="http://www.thecustomatics.com">www.thecustomatics.com</a> Lil’ Bit is a great female vocalist in the old country style and the band is first rate and kicks butt. Maynard Mills <a href="http://www.maynardmills.com">www.maynardmills.com</a> and the boys will be here Friday the ninth. Maynard is an outstanding guitar player and always pays tribute to the old masters with some dobro slide. Round Mountain <a href="http://www.myspace.com/roundmountainmusic">www.myspace.com/roundmountainmusic</a> from New Mexico plays Saturday the 10th a duo that feature two brothers that are multi-instrumentalists and play folk/world music with a twist check em’ out they are very entertaining. Sunday the 11th it’s The Mighty High Band a tribute to The Jerry Garcia band. They do all those funky R&amp;B tunes The JGB did in their day. Great dancing music. Monday the 12th is our monthly acoustic plug-in jam and open stage hosted by Patrick Cullie Peter Maves and Brian Donnell all are welcome. </span></strong>

Monday the 17th will be a International Blues Challenge show sponsored by The Colorado Blues Society <a href="http://www.coblues.com">www.coblues.com</a> starting at 7pm for solo/duo challengers the winning goes to Memphis for the big show. The 19th will be our tribute to Tom Waits and Lucinda Williams hosted by That Awnry girl herself Jamie Lunde. Trucker’s Daughter <a href="http://www.truckersdaughter.net">www.truckersdaughter.net</a>  will bring their honky-tonk music to Oskar’s, great fiddle and twangy  guitars with their vocals. Friday the 21st is The Bill McKay band <a href="http://www.myspace.com/billmckay1">www.myspace.com/billmckay1</a> of Leftover Salmon fame Bill plays great piano and organ and sings great classic songs of all varieties. The 22nd is scheduled for Mountain Standard Time <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mstband">www.myspace.com/mstband</a> a Nederland bluegrass jam band who really has lots of fun from the stage and will have you up and dancing. Sunday the 23rd is Johnny O’s <a href="http://www.johnnyoband.com">www.johnnyoband.com</a> acoustic duo he calls The Jelly roll Bakers with a great bass player Johnny gets to light up his acoustic guitar. Tuesday the 25th we have those great kids from the Guitar’s Etc. summer camp, these kids can rock check em’ out. Wednesday the 26th marks the special return of Ronnie Baker Brooks <a href="http://www.ronniebakerbrooks.com">www.ronniebakerbrooks.com</a> and his very tight blues band. The son of the famous Lonnie Brooks, Ronnie sure can stand on his own in the blues world. He just lit it up at the Greeley Blues jam this summer, get ready to party and dance. Thursday the 27th will be Blackdog <a href="http://www.blackdogband.com">www.blackdogband.com</a> with Sally Van Meter, Eric Thorin and Dave Watts an all-star group that really wails, they just finished their first CD together, come and support them. Friday the 28th we will feature that Memphis sound with the Tommy Thomas band <a href="http://www.workingmanmusic.com">www.workingmanmusic.com</a> a recipient of the Living Blues critic’s award and originally from Vicksburg Mississippi he is the working man of the blues and has a great big horn band with him. Saturday the 29th we have Zora Young <a href="http://www.myspace.com/zorayoung">www.myspace.com/zorayoung</a> a fabulous blues shouter from Chicago who was a big hit at the Chicago Blues festival this year. She will have The Colorado All Stars backing her up; she is a tour de force you won’t want to miss. Sunday the 30th outside will have the Aaron McCloskey band <a href="http://www.myspace.com/aaronmccloskey">www.myspace.com/aaronmccloskey</a> with guest David Richey on guitar and dobro from 2-5pm west of the club they will play bluegrass and old country. Mike is a true Colorado rancher and horseman when he isn’t putting out records; he is working on another CD to be released this fall. They play the gypsy jazz music of Django Rhinehart and Stefan  Grapelli and all are welcome to join in if they know this music very melodic and fun starts at 7pm. Tuesday the 4th we will host the Longmont youth all-star jazz band these kids are great and work hard, so support them. Wednesday is our local band night with a Real African Music band originally from Zimbabwe very melodic and rhythmic music. We also have Clay Farmer <a href="http://www.clayfarmer.com">www.clayfarmer.com</a> who just moved from Houston TX to Lyons and we want to welcome Clay and his fabulous baritone country vocals and original songs. The 6th Thursday we have WhiteWater Ramble  <a href="http://www.myspace.com/whitewaterramble">www.myspace.com/whitewaterramble</a> a Rocky Mountain Dancegrass band from around here that is very high-energy and unique in their sound. They play bluegrass type instruments but electrify them and kick butt with their fun jam music, check them out. Friday the 7th is a special show with the #1 Americana band from Austin Texas, The Band of Heathens <a href="http://www.bandofheathens.com">www.bandofheathens.com</a> they have three incredible singer/songwriters and just played the Mile High Festival to hordes of screaming fans. Saturday the 8th is Bonepony’s <a href="http://www.bonepony.com">www.bonepony.com</a> long awaited return to Oskar’s they are one of the most requested bands and have a cult following with their self-proclaimed Stomp rock. Sunday the 9th completes a great weekend of music with Steppin’ In It <a href="http://www.steepininit.com">www.steepininit.com</a> Michigan answer to The Band, four guys who play many different instruments and keep the dance floor hopping with their ensemble playing and soothing harmonies. Monday the 10th is our monthly acoustic plug-in blues jam and open stage, they even let me play so feel free to join in. And don’t forget our weekly Tuesday bluegrass pick hosted by K.C. Groves and Eric Thorin the best pick in Boulder County. Tuesday the 11th we have Sarah Samble <a href="http://www.sarahsample.com">www.sarahsample.com</a> and Sweet Talk radio to start off Folks Festival week at Oskar’s Sarah was a finalist in the Keerviile Folk Festival this year. The 12th, Wednesday is Oskar’s own Jamie Lunde <a href="http://www.myspace.com/awnrygirl">www.myspace.com/awnrygirl</a>
and great singer/songwriter who works here. She has a crackerjack band and is a vocalist with a smoking sound that you will enjoy. They play bluegrass type instruments but electrify them and kick butt with their fun jam music, check them out. Friday the 7th is a special show with the #1 Americana band from Austin Texas, The Band of Heathens www.bandofheathens.com they have three incredible singer/songwriters and just played the Mile High Festival to hordes of screaming fans. Saturday the 8th is Bonepony’s www.bonepony.com long awaited return to Oskar’s they are one of the most requested bands and have a cult following with their self-proclaimed Stomp rock. Sunday the 9th completes a great weekend of music with Steppin’ In It www.steepininit.com Michigan answer to The Band, four guys who play many different instruments and keep the dance floor hopping with their ensemble playing and soothing harmonies. Monday the 10th is our monthly acoustic plug-in blues jam and open stage, they even let me play so feel free to join in. And don’t forget our weekly Tuesday bluegrass pick hosted by K.C. Groves and Eric Thorin the best pick in Boulder County. Tuesday the 11th we have Sarah Samble www.sarahsample.com and Sweet Talk radio to start off Folks Festival week at Oskar’s Sarah was a finalist in the Keerviile Folk Festival this year. The 12th, Wednesday is Oskar’s own Jamie Lunde www.myspace.com/awnrygirl
and great singer/songwriter who works here. She has a crackerjack band and is a vocalist with a smoking sound that you will enjoy. Friday the 14th is Halden Wofford &#x38; the Hi-Beams www.hibeams.com with their zany brand of honky-tonk music, one of our favorites always a party with the Hi-Beams. Groves’ latest group The Blue Maddies, mostly all women this group can really sing well together and play some fine old style country and Americana music at a very low key level. Saturday and Sunday brings back one of Oskar’s favorite bluegrass bands from Athens, Georgia The Packway Handle Band </span><a href="http://www.packwayhandle.com/"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">www.packwayhandle.com</span></a><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> they are a tradition for us during Rockygrass and play some terrific gospel style bluegrass with some of the best harmony singing for a bluegrass band. Wednesday the 29<sup>th</sup> Sean Flynn from Oskar’s will take over for Eve this month and bring the usual friends from Oskar employees to have a night of fun music by our staff. Thursday the 30<sup>th</sup> will be The Culhanes </span><a href="http://www.myspace.com/theculhanes"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">www.myspace.com/theculhanes</span></a><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> a local alt-country band who plays lots of your favorite alt-country tunes and a couple of originals they are high-energy and fun. A Six piece they are high energy and not to be missed. Pop. 307 will bring his brand of Americana on Thursday the 18th he took second place in 1997 at The Winfield , Kansas National flat-picking contest and took first in Wyoming, his songs are first hand accounts of life in small towns and back country America. The Johnny O Band <a href="http://www.johnnyoband.com">www.johnnyoband.com</a>  is here on Friday the 19th Johnny is a smoking guitar player and great singer his band is very tight and together. Maynard Mills’s blues band <a href="http://www.maynardmills.com">www.maynardmills.com</a> appears on Saturday the 20th, Maynard pays tribute to all the old blues masters and plays very funky dance music as well. Sunday the 21st is the debut performance of Clint Clymer &amp; The Outlaw Gypsies <a href="http://www.myspace.com/clintclymertheoutlawgypsies">www.myspace.com/clintclymertheoutlawgypsies</a> a fine country outfit from Fort Collins way. The real country stuff here folks. Monday The 22nd will be another debut with David Williams <a href="http://www.decodjango.com">www.decodjango.com</a> and a Django jam. It will start at 7pm and will feature the music of Django Rhinehardt anyone who likes gypsy Jazz should come and play some with David who is the master of that fine music around here. This is an experiment so help make it a continuous event. Thursday the 25th we will have The Mountain Trance Medicine show <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mountaintrance">www.myspace.com/mountaintrance</a> for the first time and they play rockin’ trance music on mostly acoustic instruments and also feature a didgeridoo, very different and very interesting and sonically quite good, check them out. Friday the 26th will be a CD release party for Shawn Kellerman <a href="http://www.shawnkellerman.com">www.shawnkellerman.com</a> from Florida it will feature Jason Ricci on a couple of cuts and is called “Blues without a Home”. Shawn is a great performer and very hot guitar player and vocalist. The Interstate Stash Express will return on Saturday the 27th always a great show by Terry Kishiyama <a href="http://www.myspace.com/interstatestashexpress">www.myspace.com/interstatestashexpress</a> and partners lots of fine original roots rock stuff presented very well by the guys. Sunday the 28th we have Whiskey Bottles <a href="http://www.myspace.com/thewhiskeybottles">www.myspace.com/thewhiskeybottles</a> this big six-piece band plays alt-country, Americana and clank-your-glasses tunes by Wilco, The Stones and many more of your favorite bands.
Well don’t forget our outstanding bluegrass pick every Tuesday hosted by K.C. Groves and Eric Thorin all levels are welcome to come and join in. We also have an acoustic plug-in jam the second Monday of every month from 7:30-10pm all players are welcome to play some blues with us. Wednesday the 17th will be our monthly tribute with the songs of the Band and anyone at the Last Waltz. Pop. 307 will bring his brand of Americana on Thursday the 18th he took second place in 1997 at The Winfield , Kansas National flat-picking contest and took first in Wyoming, his songs are first hand accounts of life in small towns and back country America. The Johnny O Band www.johnnyoband.com  is here on Friday the 19th Johnny is a smoking guitar player and great singer his band is very tight and together. Maynard Mills’s blues band www.maynardmills.com appears on Saturday the 20th, Maynard pays tribute to all the old blues masters and plays very funky dance music as well. Eddie has been gigging in Europe lately and plays hot guitar in the Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan mode. The 16th we have the </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.deltasonics.com/"><strong>Delta Sonics  </strong></a><strong>with finally a debut CD after 20 some years. They have lots of original Chicago style blues and a couple of classics. Be sure to stop by and pick up this long-awaited CD.  </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.dannyshafer.com/"><strong>Danny Shafer </strong></a><strong>and his four piece acoustic based Rockin’ Americana band The Unknown Americans will perform on Sunday May 17th. The marvelous </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.candyekane.com/"><strong>Candye Kane </strong></a><strong>is back for a special engagement Monday night the 18th from 8-11pm. She has had a tough year last year with battling pancreatic cancer an automobile accident and losing over 100lbs. She is back strong as ever and will put on a great night of entertainment don’t miss this wonderful lady with the big pipes. Longs Peak Middle School jazz band will be at Oskar’s on Tuesday the 19th starting at 7:30pm, come on over and catch them. Wednesday the 20th we will have our monthly tribute, this time we are featuring Texas Troubadours Jamie Lunde of </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.myspace.com/awnrygirl"><strong>Awnry Girl productions </strong></a><strong>will be our host as well as a featured artist, we expect about nine or ten bands. We start at 7pm for this show. </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.kcgroves.com/"><strong>K.C. Groves </strong></a><strong>and the Blue Maddies will perform on Thursday night the 21st. these gals play all kinds of great old-fashioned music with impeccable harmonies and tight music, mostly from Lyons. Friday the 22nd will feature the Dave Davies band with ex-Oskar’s soundman Steve Jenks on bass lots of classic songs with great vocals. Saturday the 23rd we will have </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.myspace.com/crowboymusic"><strong>Crowboy </strong></a><strong>with their alt- country music and revered up delivery, come check this relatively new band from Boulder. </strong><a id="37" href="http://www.myspace.com/longroadhomebluegrass"><strong>Long Road Home  </strong></a><strong>with two-time Grammy winner Gene Libbea and Dr. Banjo Pete Wernick leading this hot bluegrass outfit from Fort Collins way will be playing Sunday the 24th.
