Thursday the 15th is The Tyler Grant band www.tylergrant.org a hot bluegrass band featuring National flat-picking champion Tyler Grant great original and classic bluegrass tunes. Friday the 16th it is the return of the Lionel Young band www.myspace.com/lionelyoung Lionel will be on the Legendary Blues Cruise with his band Sunday the 18th jamming with all the greats come and send him off proper. Saturday the 17th is Crowboy www.myspace.com/crowboymusic from Boulder a fine alt-country style band with lots of great original tunes they really cook. Sunday the 18th is a new rockabilly band called The Redline Rockets www.redlinerockets.com and as their name suggest they are on the rise their new CD is chock full of great rockin’ hits. Niwot High School will be at Oskar’s on Monday the 19th starting around 7pm they are a great bunch of kids and are quite good, come hear them play for you. Tuesday the 20th is a special show with Uncle Monk www.unclemonk.com a bluegrass duo staring Tommy Ramone, yes folks that is The Tommy Ramone from the quintessential punk rock group from New York City. He plays and sings real true bluegrass and it’s good. Wednesday the 21st is out Tribute night and this month we are doing The Grateful Dead hosted by Oskar’s own Jamie Lunde of Awnry girl productions, they are always fun nights of great music by local artists. Thursday the 22nd marks the return of Slipstream www.theslipstream.com with Jamie Stone on banjo they are a fine acoustic group made up of many outstanding musicians. Friday it’s the Delta Sonics band www.deltasonics.com featuring Al Chesis on the harmonica arguably the best local harp player in Denver with a new CD finally, come and get a copy of it. Saturday the 24th is a legend from Chicago Billy Branch who played with Muddy Waters and many more Chicago greats he is in town doing Blues in the schools for the Colorado Blues Society and we are lucky to get him here to play a show for us don’t miss this master. Sunday it’s a Wedding celebration for Patty & Chris K. a local music celebrity who will have many different bands playing all day for them starting around 4pm come on by and wish them luck. Monday the 26th is our Django jam hosted by David Williams www.decodjango.com they play from 7-9pm and it is a delight to hear them do Django Reinhardt music so well. Jamie Lunde www.winterparkconcerts.com will be bringing her great band in for a night of alt-country original tunes with a few classic covers on the 28th for your listening enjoyment. Jamie writes lots of great tunes and sings her heart out. Thursday it’s Pokey LaFarge www.myspace.com/pokeylafarge from St. Louis back for some more Riverboat Soul. Pokey is very unique and really can play that old-time music like nobody else, check him out he is very good and lots of fun. Friday the 30th is Halden Wofford www.Hibeams.com and the Hi-Beams our favorite Honky-tonk band. It is always a party with The H-Beams so make sure you get there early and be prepared to stay late. October the first is a Thursday and we will have The Stanleytones www.stanleytonesbluegrass.com a fine bluegrass band from the area that have recently released a great CD. The 2nd is Friday and we will be featuring R. J. Mischo www.rjblues.com a great Chicago style harmonica player with Dan Treanor and his band from Denver backing him up. He is one of the best in the nation and really swings. Saturday is Romano Paoletti & Friends www.romanomusic.com Romano has just released his first full CD and it is terrific. It is always a party with Romano so come early if you want to sit. Sunday the 4th is Swing State www.nancythorwardson.com a fine vintage and modern swing band with a great line-up with Bill Ponterelli on clarinet. Mike Schikora www.mikeschikora.com will be having a CD release party on Monday night the 5th fresh from a tour of the upper Midwest a great singer/songwriter with a hot band. Come pick up a CD. Tuesday the 6th it will be The Lyons High School jazz band for their initial concert of this school year. Come and support these great kids, they work hard and sound good every year. Wednesday the 7th is our local band night with Zach & Sean and The Insurgents. Thursday the 8th is Lil’ Bit and the Customatics www.thecustomatics.com Lil’ Bit is a great female vocalist in the old country style and the band is first rate and kicks butt. Maynard Mills www.maynardmills.com and the boys will be here Friday the ninth. Maynard is an outstanding guitar player and always pays tribute to the old masters with some dobro slide. Round Mountain www.myspace.com/roundmountainmusic from New Mexico plays Saturday the 10th a duo that feature two brothers that are multi-instrumentalists and play folk/world music with a twist check em’ out they are very entertaining. Sunday the 11th it’s The Mighty High Band a tribute to The Jerry Garcia band. They do all those funky R&B tunes The JGB did in their day. Great dancing music. Monday the 12th is our monthly acoustic plug-in jam and open stage hosted by Patrick Cullie Peter Maves and Brian Donnell all are welcome.

Saturday the 15th will be Lyons resident Ash Ganley www.ashganley.com and his Americana band. Ash writes great songs and the band is always complimentary for his and Andrea’s vocals. August 16th is Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels www.myspace.com/caseyprestwood and their brand of country rock, Casey is a vocalist in the Gram Parsons vein and writes good songs. Monday the 17th will be a International Blues Challenge show sponsored by The Colorado Blues Society www.coblues.com starting at 7pm for solo/duo challengers the winning goes to Memphis for the big show. The 19th will be our tribute to Tom Waits and Lucinda Williams hosted by That Awnry girl herself Jamie Lunde. Trucker’s Daughter www.truckersdaughter.net will bring their honky-tonk music to Oskar’s, great fiddle and twangy guitars with their vocals. Friday the 21st is The Bill McKay band www.myspace.com/billmckay1 of Leftover Salmon fame Bill plays great piano and organ and sings great classic songs of all varieties. The 22nd is scheduled for Mountain Standard Time www.myspace.com/mstband a Nederland bluegrass jam band who really has lots of fun from the stage and will have you up and dancing. Sunday the 23rd is Johnny O’s www.johnnyoband.com acoustic duo he calls The Jelly roll Bakers with a great bass player Johnny gets to light up his acoustic guitar. Tuesday the 25th we have those great kids from the Guitar’s Etc. summer camp, these kids can rock check em’ out. Wednesday the 26th marks the special return of Ronnie Baker Brooks www.ronniebakerbrooks.com and his very tight blues band. The son of the famous Lonnie Brooks, Ronnie sure can stand on his own in the blues world. He just lit it up at the Greeley Blues jam this summer, get ready to party and dance. Thursday the 27th will be Blackdog www.blackdogband.com with Sally Van Meter, Eric Thorin and Dave Watts an all-star group that really wails, they just finished their first CD together, come and support them. Friday the 28th we will feature that Memphis sound with the Tommy Thomas band www.workingmanmusic.com a recipient of the Living Blues critic’s award and originally from Vicksburg Mississippi he is the working man of the blues and has a great big horn band with him. Saturday the 29th we have Zora Young www.myspace.com/zorayoung a fabulous blues shouter from Chicago who was a big hit at the Chicago Blues festival this year. She will have The Colorado All Stars backing her up; she is a tour de force you won’t want to miss. Sunday the 30th outside will have the Aaron McCloskey band www.myspace.com/aaronmccloskey with guest David Richey on guitar and dobro from 2-5pm west of the club they will play bluegrass and old country. Then inside from 6-9pm it is the Mike Schikora band www.mikeschikora.com they play country music with a rockin’ beat. Mike is a true Colorado rancher and horseman when he isn’t putting out records; he is working on another CD to be released this fall. The month of August ends with our new Django jam hosted by David Williams www.decodjango.com who was nominated for an Emmy this year. They play the gypsy jazz music of Django Rhinehart and Stefan Grapelli and all are welcome to join in if they know this music very melodic and fun starts at 7pm. August 1st is a Saturday and we have Blue Krewe www.bluekrewe.com they play New Orleans style music from the Meters and DR. John for instance it’s a Nawlins party with this band. Sunday the 2nd will feature Lyons old favorite Jimmy Sferes www.sferesandwhite.com who moved to New Hampshire last year. Jimmy plays Folk and Americana music. Tuesday the 4th we will host the Longmont youth all-star jazz band these kids are great and work hard, so support them. Wednesday is our local band night with a Real African Music band originally from Zimbabwe very melodic and rhythmic music. We also have Clay Farmer www.clayfarmer.com who just moved from Houston TX to Lyons and we want to welcome Clay and his fabulous baritone country vocals and original songs. The 6th Thursday we have WhiteWater Ramble www.myspace.com/whitewaterramble a Rocky Mountain Dancegrass band from around here that is very high-energy and unique in their sound. They play bluegrass type instruments but electrify them and kick butt with their fun jam music, check them out. Friday the 7th is a special show with the #1 Americana band from Austin Texas, The Band of Heathens www.bandofheathens.com they have three incredible singer/songwriters and just played the Mile High Festival to hordes of screaming fans. Saturday the 8th is Bonepony’s www.bonepony.com long awaited return to Oskar’s they are one of the most requested bands and have a cult following with their self-proclaimed Stomp rock. Sunday the 9th completes a great weekend of music with Steppin’ In It www.steepininit.com Michigan answer to The Band, four guys who play many different instruments and keep the dance floor hopping with their ensemble playing and soothing harmonies. Monday the 10th is our monthly acoustic plug-in blues jam and open stage, they even let me play so feel free to join in. And don’t forget our weekly Tuesday bluegrass pick hosted by K.C. Groves and Eric Thorin the best pick in Boulder County. Tuesday the 11th we have Sarah Samble www.sarahsample.com and Sweet Talk radio to start off Folks Festival week at Oskar’s Sarah was a finalist in the Keerviile Folk Festival this year. The 12th, Wednesday is Oskar’s own Jamie Lunde www.myspace.com/awnrygirl and great singer/songwriter who works here. She has a crackerjack band and is a vocalist with a smoking sound that you will enjoy. Joe Moss www.joemossband.com from Chicago will be here Friday July 17^th Joe and the band play authentic Chicago blues and many original blues tunes Joe is one of the best blues guitar players in Chicago. A very special show on Saturday the 18^th with Paula Nelson www.paulanelsonband.com and her hot band from Austin Texas. Yes folks it is really Willie Nelson’s daughter and the fruit doesn’t fall far from his tree, she has a very emotive voice and the band works very well supporting her. Don’t miss this very friendly and approachable lady sing her songs. Oskar’s own publicist Marty Jones www.myspace.com/martyjonesdenver brings his new band The Great Unknowns to our stage for some fine country style tunes. Marty is a great singer/songwriter with some very witty songs. Wednesday starts our Rockygrass weekend with Lyons darlings of bluegrass The Spring Creek Bluegrass band www.springcreekbluegrass.com this quartet is one of the hottest bluegrass bands in the nation come support them and see why I can say that. Thursday Pete Kartsounes www.petekmusic.com and his band does a show for Kids with Cancer a benefit that coincides with Pete hiking across the mountains to raise money for these needy kids come and support Pete and donate to this great cause. Friday we will be graced with K.C. Groves’ latest group The Blue Maddies, mostly all women this group can really sing well together and play some fine old style country and Americana music at a very low key level. Saturday and Sunday brings back one of Oskar’s favorite bluegrass bands from Athens, Georgia The Packway Handle Band www.packwayhandle.com they are a tradition for us during Rockygrass and play some terrific gospel style bluegrass with some of the best harmony singing for a bluegrass band. We will have Colin O’Brien www.colinobrien.com open for them Saturday night and Shannon Whitworth www.shannonwhitworth.com will open Sundays show. Colin is a fine banjo player in the John Hartford vane who dances and sings and plays at the same time should be fun. Shannon has a four-piece band whose voice has been compared to Billy Holiday, Neko Case and Patsy Cline. Tuesday the 28^th at 7pm we will host the kids rock club from Guitar’s Etc. in Longmont come support these hard working kids. Wednesday the 29^th Sean Flynn from Oskar’s will take over for Eve this month and bring the usual friends from Oskar employees to have a night of fun music by our staff. Thursday the 30^th will be The Culhanes www.myspace.com/theculhanes a local alt-country band who plays lots of your favorite alt-country tunes and a couple of originals they are high-energy and fun. Friday the 31^st we end an exciting month musically with The Damon Fowler Group www.damonfowlergroup.com all the way from Florida, Damon plays slide guitar reminiscent of Dwayne Allman. They released their first CD on Blind Pig records that just tore up the blues and jamband charts, this group really wails check em’ out. July starts on a Wednesday and the first Wednesday of every month we have our local band night. This month we will have The Slick Allen Trio www.myspace.com/slickallentrio and the Mike Schikora Band www.mikeschikora.com Mike is a great country singer/songwriter and the Slick Allen Trio play Americana style music. It starts at 7pm and we hope you will support these fine local groups. Thursday the 2^nd will mark the return of the Jeff & Vida band www.jeffandvida.com with their Colorado band consisting of Greg Schochet on guitar , Justin Hoffenberg on fiddle, Jake Schepps on banjo and Will Downs on bass these guys add to Jeff & Vida already great bluegrassy sound. Friday the 3^rd will be Jockamo with their jumpy New Orleans sound www.myspace.com/skyedowning. This will be their last show with Skye as she heads to Austin Texas in the fall. Tyler Grant has relocated to the area from Nashville www.tylergrant.org he is a award winning guitar player and has an all-star lineup for his bluegrass show on July the 4^th. Heidi & The Rhythm Rollers www.myspace.com/heidiandtherhythmrollers will be back on Sunday the 5^th joining the effervesent Heidi are Gene Libeaa (2 time Grammy winner) Rodney James on guitar from The Blue Flames They play what they call Bluesabilly resurrecting great tunes from the 40’s & 50’s. Wednesday the 8^th is a special show with a fabulous band from the Ozarks Big Smith www.bigsmith.com a family band of cousins who play a hippie tinged roots music or alt-country sound. A Six piece they are high energy and not to be missed. Thursday the ninth will be Lil Joe McClarren www.lttlejoeblues.com who just won the International blues Challenge as a solo act but will be bringing a small band with him. Joe is originally from around here and is a true purveyor of the old acoustic blues. Watch out July 10^th for a return visit by Oskar old friend John Lee Hooker Jr. www.johnleehookerjr.com a show that is over the top. John was nominated for a second Grammy this year but lost out to B.B. King and is the first bluesman to have his own animated video. Saturday the 11^th will be Eddie Devil Boy Turner www.eddiedevilboyturner.com a smoking guitarist from Denver who was Otis Taylor’s guitarist for his first 3 or 4 CD’s. Sunday the 12th we have the one and only Joe Price www.joepriceblues.com. Back for a visit with his lovely wife Vickie, Joe is an Iowa Blues Hall of Famer and endorsee of National Resophonic guitars and an exceptional slide guitarist who has lots of fun from stage. Our acoustic plug-in blues jam is Monday the 13^th hosted by Peter Maves, Patrick Cullie and Brain Donnell everyone is welcome and they even let me play a couple last month. So come on down and join in on stage. Sunday the 21st is the debut performance of Clint Clymer & The Outlaw Gypsies www.myspace.com/clintclymertheoutlawgypsies a fine country outfit from Fort Collins way. The real country stuff here folks. Monday The 22nd will be another debut with David Williams www.decodjango.com and a Django jam. It will start at 7pm and will feature the music of Django Rhinehardt anyone who likes gypsy Jazz should come and play some with David who is the master of that fine music around here. This is an experiment so help make it a continuous event. Thursday the 25th we will have The Mountain Trance Medicine show www.myspace.com/mountaintrance for the first time and they play rockin’ trance music on mostly acoustic instruments and also feature a didgeridoo, very different and very interesting and sonically quite good, check them out. Friday the 26th will be a CD release party for Shawn Kellerman www.shawnkellerman.com from Florida it will feature Jason Ricci on a couple of cuts and is called “Blues without a Home”. Shawn is a great performer and very hot guitar player and vocalist. The Interstate Stash Express will return on Saturday the 27th always a great show by Terry Kishiyama www.myspace.com/interstatestashexpress and partners lots of fine original roots rock stuff presented very well by the guys. Sunday the 28th we have Whiskey Bottles www.myspace.com/thewhiskeybottles this big six-piece band plays alt-country, Americana and clank-your-glasses tunes by Wilco, The Stones and many more of your favorite bands. Well don’t forget our outstanding bluegrass pick every Tuesday hosted by K.C. Groves and Eric Thorin all levels are welcome to come and join in. We also have an acoustic plug-in jam the second Monday of every month from 7:30-10pm all players are welcome to play some blues with us. Well that’s it for June hope to see ya groovin’ at the place.

We continue to work on getting you the most up-to-date music details our funky little brew-pub has to offer. Take it away Dave…Friday the 15th we have Eddie Devil Boy Turner on stage. Eddie has been gigging in Europe lately and plays hot guitar in the Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan mode. The 16th we have the Delta Sonics with finally a debut CD after 20 some years. They have lots of original Chicago style blues and a couple of classics. Be sure to stop by and pick up this long-awaited CD. Danny Shafer and his four piece acoustic based Rockin’ Americana band The Unknown Americans will perform on Sunday May 17th. The marvelous Candye Kane is back for a special engagement Monday night the 18th from 8-11pm. She has had a tough year last year with battling pancreatic cancer an automobile accident and losing over 100lbs. She is back strong as ever and will put on a great night of entertainment don’t miss this wonderful lady with the big pipes. Longs Peak Middle School jazz band will be at Oskar’s on Tuesday the 19th starting at 7:30pm, come on over and catch them. Wednesday the 20th we will have our monthly tribute, this time we are featuring Texas Troubadours Jamie Lunde of Awnry Girl productions will be our host as well as a featured artist, we expect about nine or ten bands. We start at 7pm for this show. K.C. Groves and the Blue Maddies will perform on Thursday night the 21st. these gals play all kinds of great old-fashioned music with impeccable harmonies and tight music, mostly from Lyons. Friday the 22nd will feature the Dave Davies band with ex-Oskar’s soundman Steve Jenks on bass lots of classic songs with great vocals. Saturday the 23rd we will have Crowboy with their alt- country music and revered up delivery, come check this relatively new band from Boulder. Long Road Home with two-time Grammy winner Gene Libbea and Dr. Banjo Pete Wernick leading this hot bluegrass outfit from Fort Collins way will be playing Sunday the 24th. Wednesday the 28th of May we have The DeWayn Brothers bluegrass band all the way from Kansas, this band is really hot and will really please all those Nugrass fans out there. Come and see what’s going on in Kansas these days. The great blues vocalist Terry Evans will be back at Oskar’s on Friday May 29th with his hot band from California. Terry has sung with many legends like John Lee Hooker and Ry Cooder over his many years in the business. The Zydeco sounds of Dikki Du Carrier and the Zydeco krewe will have the place rocking on Saturday the 30th be sure to wear your dancing shoes and be ready to two-step to this hot music. To end the month on a high note we will have Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams on Sunday May 31st to get your feet tapping and your heart going get their early if you want to sit down, then why would you when these guys hit the stage.

We welcome everything from blues, rock, bluegrass and jam music to folk, Americana, trad-country and the Lyons High School Jazz Band (they rule!).
